El Jones is a poet and a professor at Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She joins us from Halifax to discuss Canadian politics and relations with the US. Despite protestations against Trump’s plan to make Canada the 51st state, that country’s newest prime minister follows a tradition of US vassalage. Canada has new immigration enforcement that rivals that of the U.S.
