Dr. Gerald Horne is an author and historian who currently holds the John J. and Rebecca Moores Chair of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston. His most recent book is The Counter Revolution of 1836: Texas Slavery & Jim Crow and the Roots of American Fascism. He joins us to discuss U.S. politics and the upcoming 2024 presidential election in the first part of a two-part interview.
