The Black Alliance for Peace Calls for International Popular Mobilizations to Stop Israel’s Genocidal Campaign to Starve Palestinians to Death!

The Israeli state’s starvation campaign in Gaza—backed by the U.S. and Europe—is a livestreamed genocide. As malnutrition ravages children and the West vetoes ceasefires, the 'rules-based order' reveals its truth: Palestinian lives are expendable. Liberation demands more than appeals to hollow institutions. It requires global anti-imperialist resistance to stop the siege before Israel’s 'final solution' is complete.

The North-South Project for People(s)-Centered Human Rights, a project of the Black Alliance for Peace (BAP), vehemently condemns the barbarism of the quotidian siege and concerted use of starvation as a weapon utilized by the Israeli ethnostate as well as the collusion of the U.S. and Western European states in this ongoing crime.

With increasing alarm, reports are emerging that indicate widespread starvation is now spreading across Gaza. According to the United Nations, an 80 percent increase in the number of children suffering acute malnutrition was observed in the month of March. Nonetheless, Western governments, and the international structures ostensibly created to protect human rights, have failed to protect the most fundamental human right – the right to life – in Gaza.

In a report dated April 29, 2025, Amnesty International joined the global community in condemning the wanton and systematic cruelty of Israel’s livestreamed genocide in Gaza where now tens of thousands of Palestinians face imminent starvation.

Amnesty International's report is especially germane as we approach the 60th day of the unprecedented Israeli siege of Gaza and the evisceration of Palestinian’s human rights.

In describing the catastrophe of human rights in Gaza, Ajamu Baraka, Director of the North-South Project, stated, “The silence from the “democratic” West on the plight of over two million women, children and men being slowly starved to death will go down as one of the most horrific events in human history.” He continued, “Trapped and denied food, water, medicines, and fuel, the fascists in Israel, with the full support of the Trump administration, have created apocalyptic conditions for the human beings called Palestinians that until now could only be imagined in science fiction films.”

Yet, the open air prison of Gaza is a real-life dystopia in which Palestinians are systematically murdered for no other reasons than they are “occupying” land the European Zionists, who make up the Israeli ruling class, are committed to stealing, and the undeniable fact that Palestinians have been racialized as non-white, thereby rendering them as  “killable” with qualified impunity as endowed upon the Zionist ethnostate by Western colonial governments led by the United States.

Francesca Albanese, United National Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories declared last year that Israel’s move toward an open policy of genocide “represented an escalatory stage of a long-standing settler colonial process of erasure. “

But that move toward genocide was aided and abetted by the “collective West.” She goes on to say, “2024 will be remembered for how Israel’s military occupation grew ever more brazen and deadly, for the way the USA, Germany and a handful of other European states supported Israel; the way the USA, under the Biden administration, repeatedly vetoed UN Security Council resolutions calling for a ceasefire and states continued arms transfers to Israel.”

Yet, as egregious as the indiscriminate bombing campaign was, the turn by the Israeli government to an intentional and targeted starvation campaign as an instrument of war crossed another red line in the many red lines of blatant violations of international humanitarian and human rights law that were crossed by the Israeli fascists such as the bombing of hospitals, collective punishment, rape of prisoners, and systematic torture.

Clearly, however, the Netanyahu government and its colonial project is not operating alone. As Trump approaches 100 days in office, the lurid mendacity of the 60-day siege on Gaza must be owned by his administration. Israel would not be engaged in these flagrant assaults on all civilizational norms without the full support of the bipartisan fascists in the U.S., and specifically the Trump administration.

BAP is not naive. It is obvious that there will be no “humanitarian intervention” and no “responsibility to protect” from the white West because Palestinian lives mean nothing. Those phony human rights concepts have been laid to rest as the instrumentalized concepts for Western imperialism that they were. The Western world sends a quotidian message to the people of Palestine, “Shut up and die.”

We will not let that happen and we will not be silent.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) began hearings on Monday into the issue of Israel’s illegal efforts to restrict the work of the UN and other international organizations in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT). But people are dying daily. And with the granting of court to Israel to hear its appeal of the South African case against it on the charge of genocide until January of 2026, the ICJ has, itself, become a genocide enabler.

In Gaza, Euro-Med Monitor warned that 94 per cent of Palestinians killed between April 20 and April 26 were civilians, with ratios continuing to be weighted toward women and children. The World Food Programme (WFP) reports that food stocks are now exhausted. By January Israel may have completed its “final solution” for Gaza and the West Bank.

BAP will continue to raise our voices and put our bodies on the line to prevent the genocide. We are hoping that we are joined in raising an emergency appeal to make this story a primary story to be discussed everywhere. We are calling on all people of conscience and anti-colonial, anti-imperialist forces and nations to demand an end to the siege and the liberation of the Palestinian nation.

For BAP, we will do all that we can in spite of the growing repression, on that pledge there will be no compromise and no retreat!
