Conge President Invites US Help to Fight Non-Existent ISIS Threat

Felix Tshisekedi, the new president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, requested US help in dealing with an alleged threat from ISIS, although only two percent of the country’s population is Muslim. “The notion that terrorism from ISIS is a major concern for Congo is a stretch, at best,” said Maurice Carney, director of Friends of Congo. Moreover, “wherever the US goes, they have “exacerbated instability” and “created terrorists and conflict.”
