Black Agenda Radio · Ending Prison Slavery in California

Dorsey Nunn recently retired as Executive Director of Legal Services for Prisoners with Children (LSPC). He is also the author of "What Kind of Bird Can't Fly: A Memoir of Resilience and Resurrection." He joins us from Menlo Park, California to discuss a proposed amendment to California’s state constitution, ACA 8, which aims to abolish involuntary servitude as a form of criminal punishment. It seeks to remove language that currently allows the use of forced labor for incarcerated individuals, thus ensuring that prison labor is truly voluntary and subject to standard labor protections.
