Black banks are useful and should be supported, but only some form of reparations can confront the disastrous Black economic condition, said Mehrsa Baradaran, author of “The Color of Money: Black Banks and the Racial Wealth Gap.” Black capitalism can’t fix the ills that generations of public policy created, said Mehrsa, who teaches banking law at the University of Georgia.
