Black Agenda Radio · Alabama Ordered to Create Majority Black Congressional District

Kareem Crayton is senior director for voting and representation at the Brennan Center for Justice. He joins us from Washington to discuss the recent federal court order that Alabama adopt a congressional map that contains two majority-Black districts. The map was drawn by the special master in the case, and, in keeping with the Supreme Court’s ruling in Allen v. Milligan, it preserves Alabama’s existing Black-majority district and adds a new one. He will give us the background of this case.
