Freedom Rider: UNAC Brings Power to the People

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The United National Anti-War Coalition, which held a national conference last weekend in Richmond, Virginia, “does not change its organizing principles based on who controls Congress or who sits in the White House Oval Office.” All oppressions are intertwined. “The fight for a living minimum wage and the fight against interventions abroad must therefore be addressed together because they are in fact part of a whole.”

Freedom Rider: Under the Democrats’ Bus

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The Democrats continue their decades-long lurch to the right. The party funds right-wing congressional candidates in hopes of appealing to Trump voters, but resists its own supporters’ calls for single payer health care and other reforms. The treachery provokes hardly a peep of complaint from Black politicians, who are busy searching for lurking Russians. Meanwhile, Barack Obama has been “hanging out with royalty in the United Kingdom.”

Freedom Rider: Climate Agreement Smoke and Mirrors

by BAR editor and senior columist Margaret Kimberley

Donald Trump backed out of the Paris climate accords, but “the world leaders who condemn him are even more guilty because they have used sleight of hand to give an appearance of concern and of action when they lie to the world and continue killing the planet.” The big polluters gave themselves a free pass on previous emissions, while agreeing “not to pay poor countries for the damage that global warming does to them and to their people.”

Freedom Rider: Obama vs. Trump

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

President Barack Obama sold Saudi Arabia record amounts of weapons, joined its murderous war in Yemen, and interfered in European elections by supporting Angela Merkel in Germany and Emmanuel Macron in France. Yet the corporate media pretends that this continuity of U.S. imperial policy is, somehow, all Donald Trump’s idea. The rulers care only about the Empire. “The ICE raids, emboldened racism, voter suppression and cuts to government programs don’t concern them.”

Freedom Rider: Endless Propaganda

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The Big Lie works. The Democrat/War Party concocts several howling lies per week, amplifies them endlessly in the corporate media, and then repeats the process the next week with a new batch of lies against targeted states and Donald Trump’s associates. Meanwhile, the Democrats offer absolutely nothing of substance. They want “to get back into power without presenting any policies that the people want to see enacted.”

Freedom Rider: No Tears for the FBI

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Pity the poor FBI agents. Reportedly, the morale of the secret police has suffered since their former director, James Comey, was cashiered by President Trump. If the FBI has, indeed, been rendered ineffectual, that’s a blessing. “We can only hope that their condition is so serious that they no longer want to target individuals and groups for surveillance, arrest and imprisonment.”

Freedom Rider: Democratic Party Death Spiral

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The Democrats are locked in a fatal contradiction: they cannot serve the people and their rich paymasters, too. The people want higher wages, affordable education and the right to healthcare. Instead, the Democrats “engage in wishful thinking that the same tired nostrums would work one more time.” The Democrats only run for office so they can “make deals on behalf of the corporate interests which feed them.”

Freedom Rider: Obama Gets Paid

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Obama opposed reparations for Black slavery, but gladly pockets payback for his work in ensuring that banks are “too big to jail.” Obama has been on the Lord’s of Capital’s payroll, coming and going, having won the presidency with the largest contributions from Wall Street in history. “The fact that his defenders so casually shrug their shoulders and defend kleptocracy ought to be debated.”

Freedom Rider: Do Americans Have No Shame?

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Putting aside the lack of any proof of Russian interference in U.S. elections, Americans have some nerve complaining about outside meddling when they have violated the sovereign rights of much of the planet. Americans owe the world heartfelt acts of contrition. “There ought to be a march of apology from Americans to people in Grenada, Haiti, Honduras, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Libya, and yes in Russia too.”

Freedom Rider: Obama and Clinton Brought Slavery to Libya

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

According to international observers, “African migrants are being openly bought and sold in Libya” – yet another consequence of “R2P,” the pernicious doctrine of “Responsibility to Protect.” No one is protecting Black Africans from the bestial forces let loose by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in Libya in 2011. “America’s first black president is responsible for slavery taking place in a once prosperous African country.”

Freedom Rider: Trump Joins Democrats in the War Party

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The Trump who upset the War Party with his stated opposition to regime change and willingness to lessen tensions with Russia has combusted in orange fireballs of war. In the wake of the attack on Syria, Bernie Sanders “proves himself to be a phony progressive, supporting the empire while claiming there is some difference between himself and his once and future rival, Clinton.” And, the pink pussy hat crowd? “They aren’t resisting anything at all.”

Freedom Rider: Black Misleaders Act Like Republicans

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Black politics in Baltimore has sunk to the very bottom of the sewer, with mayor Catherine Pugh’s veto of a rise in the minimum wage. “Black people have no reason to rejoice with the Pughs of the world in office, because they are just as eager to act against their interests if powerful people give them marching orders.” Push is “a typical member of the black misleadership class, who live off of the crumbs of corporate tribute.”

Freedom Rider: Is Trump the DNC Hacker?

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

If the Democrats are intent on living at the Vast Conspiracy Hotel, they ought to widen their list of suspects in the leaking of embarrassing Democratic documents. Roger Stone and Nigel Farage -- men much closer to Donald Trump’s brand of politics than Vladimir Putin -- have had curious contacts with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. Stone is “the champion Republican Party dirty trickster,” while Farange, the British rightwinger, is a friend of Trump.

Freedom Rider: Hillary Returns

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

How long should one stay in rehab after losing to Donald Trump? In Hillary Clinton’s case, forever. Clinton’s recent “coming back out” party in Scranton, Pennsylvania, shows that “there will be no deviation from the failed strategies which put Trump in the White House.” With nothing else to offer (except war and more war) she’s still running against Trump. “If Trump didn’t exist the Democratic Party would have had to invent him.”

Freedom Rider: When America Interfered in a Russian Election

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The U.S. is the unchallenged champion of hijacking, fixing and subverting elections around the world. On every inhabitable continent – from Italy to Iran to Accra to Tegucigalpa -- Washington has stolen people’s rights to elected leaders of their choice. Only two decades ago, Bill Clinton and his operatives were busy stealing Russia’s first post-Soviet elections. But, U.S. corporate media seem to have forgotten such inconvenient facts.

Freedom Rider: Trump and Russia, the Perfect Lie

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

The latest New York Times article is proof that outgoing president Obama “was looking not for intelligence he knew didn’t exist, but anything that could be used against Trump and his team.” When it comes to intrigue, Donald Trump is grossly outmatched by the Democrats, the spooks and the corporate media. “Team Obama has the most adept spies in the world while Trump has his son-in-law and untested staff who are completely out of their league.”

Freedom Rider: Liberals Expose Themselves

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley

Democrats and phony progressives talk a lot about mounting a great “resistance” to Donald Trump, yet gave Barack Obama a blank check to pursue much the same policies. Trump will find it difficult to exceed Obama in deportations, and damn near impossible to best him in bailing out corporations or attacking other countries. Trump’s rise has caused the Democrats to show their true colors as the party of war and the (deep) national security state.
