Killer cops are the most powerful agents of Black enragement. As in the case of Oscar Grant, not even the presence of live witnesses and cameras seems to deter the hit men in blue. BAR’s Dr. Jared Ball reminds us that Malcolm X “once said that simply being Black in America ‘radicalizes you.’ We hope so because it certainly does continue to enrage.”

People’s Lawyer Sentenced

Lynne Stewart has been “made an example of” because she defends the people’s “right to resist – the ultimate human right,” says activist and educator Ward Churchill. Stewart was re-sentenced to ten years in prison for allegedly providing “material support” to her client, an accused terrorist.

Towards a Red Black & Green Party

Blacks have given blind allegiance to the Democratic Party over the last 75 years, just as they did with Republicans in the previous 65 years since Emancipation, says BAR’s Bruce Dixon. “Our 1870 political strategy makes us unable to discern an enemy when he is a professed Democrat, all the more a Democrat with a black face.”

Black Jobs by the Numbers

Steven Pitts, of the Center for Labor Research and Education at the University of California, at Berkeley, worries that “we begin to pit low wage workers against the unemployed” at times of economic trouble, and “put unemployed workers into bad jobs.” Pitts and his colleagues have recently begun issuing monthly reports on Black employment prospects.

A 43-Year Cooperative Venture

Since 1967, the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund has helped Black farmers achieve self-sufficiency. The federation celebrates its work with 30,000 families in 75 cooperatives across the South with festivities in Birmingham, Alabama, August 19-21, says executive director Ralph Paige.

Black Agenda Radio on the Progressive Radio Network is hosted by Glen Ford and Nellie Bailey. A new edition of the program airs every Monday at 4:00pm ET on PRN. Length: One hour.

It's good to hear that the

It's good to hear that the Obama administration has made progress on clearing up civil rights lawsuits relating to farmers, to hear of a bright spot in the horrible Obama record so far, but I find myself wondering, as Sherrod involved in this somehow and might it be part of the reason she was fired?  One way or another, there has to be more to the Sherrod story than has been revealed.

Your Opinions, Please

I was just thinking about these two civil right leaders, Dr. King and Malcom X.

Martin Luther King employed a non-violence revolution to fight for civil rights. Malcolm was as fiery as he could be in his fight against oppression. Yet, both of them were violently mowed down.

Dr. King legacy has  been  used  in every  corner of the globe despite the fact that blacks are still kraaled in neighborhoods where drugs, addictions, unemployment, poverty and crime abound. What these guys fought so hard to acheve  is  being covertly undermined by the very  forces who claim to respect civil rights laws! The economic welfare of majority of African Americans has not improved despite the fact that they can vote!

In spit of  the fact that African Americans do not have powers to practice racism or  hurt whites in USA, the  white Americans are up in arms regarding reverse racism by the blacks!

I came across these video clips of the dire situation in South Africa after apatheid.

Here is still one of the faces of South Africa white Supremacists  who have formed a militia::

Here is the other clip where the ANC Youth Leadership president, Julias Malema, throws out a  BBC reporter for interrupting him during a press conference:

http://multimedia.timeslive.co.za/videos/2010/04/malema-kicks-out-a-bbc-journalist/

Nelson Mandela has  been showered with all sorts of praises world wide for  bringing a peaceful transition from apatheid regime. Unlike Dr. King, his statue is erected at London Traflgar Square in England. His 90th birthday, recentlycelebrated in London, was attended by corporate bosses from European Union and USA!  Yet , poverty, disease and unemployment still plague most black South African population. White minority still own majority of rich farmlands and control of 99% of South African economy!

Each time the young South African government tries  to do anything to help blacks, there are screams of reverse racism coming from white South Africans who control almost everything. There are serious attemps by the white supremacists to split ANC so that Africans in South Africa can start killing one another for those left over resources. Alternatively, they would rather find some Uncle Tom or another African like Paul Kagame to reign in on the rest black population by eliminating any opposing view. Giving Africans reasons to hate and  kill each other has been an effective tool used in most Sub Saharan Africa.

Can Africans and African Americans  find better approach towards self reliance without putting their tails between their legs and waiting forever for change? What could be the most effective method  to channel the anger and frustration build up without bursting ?

I gathered Mr. Malema is about 28 years old. Here is the script from the video!http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/article393944.ece/Malema-loses-it
