There is No Effective Constituency for Africa in the United States

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

The next chief of AFRICOM wants a 15-fold expansion in drones and other intelligence-gathering. The full-court press against the continent has begun, with the U.S. “building the capability to militarily control all of Africa, in conjunction with its European allies and its African proxies.” But the Black American Misleadership Class couldn’t care less.

The Empire Holds Its War Council in Chicago

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

The administration imposed the most draconian police state legal structures in U.S. history before summoning the heads of NATO to Chicago. NATO accounts for 70 percent of military spending on the planet – combining the capacities of yesterday’s imperialists and the current superpower. “The Black man in the White House is seen, ironically, as the last best hope of the old colonial racial order and the rule of capital.”

Mahmoud Jibril and Qaddafi's Wealth Redistribution Project

    from Cynthia McKinney

The historical record of Muammar Qaddafi’s leadership of Libya must be preserved against the false narrative of the regime changers. The real story is one of internal betrayal at the highest levels, as well as external aggression. The Libyan government bureaucrat who would become head of the NATO-backed National Transitional Council, Mahmoud Jibril, “believed that the masses were not fit to govern themselves and that an elite should control the fate and wealth of any nation.” He is now busily transferring that wealth to private and foreign hands.

UN, NATO War Crimes in Libya Sparks Anger and Continuing Resistance

    by Abayomi Azikiwe

The imperialists are attempting to convert Libya into a protectorate of the U.S., Europe and Persian Gulf royalty. “The world’s most powerful military and political alliance had resolved to overthrow a politically stable regime.” But the people have not been pacified. In Bani Walid, “tribesmen say their men are already trying to regroup into a new insurgency movement.”

Black Libyans Make Their Stand in Sirte and Bani Walid

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

Black soldiers are fighting for survival against the world’s biggest lynch mob, armed to the teeth by the United States and Europe.” When it comes to Blacks – whether Libyans or immigrant workers - NATO-backed rebels have shown no respect for the rules of war, or for women and children. If surrender means torture and debasement or summary execution at the hands of racist killers, the only option is a battle to the bitter end.

Euro-American Land Invasion of Libya Imminent

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

As if hard-wired for theft of other people's lands, the European Union is preparing to put thousands of its once-and-forever colonial boots on the ground in Libya. “The mass ground onsla ught may well commence with the imminent deployment of the European Union’s so-called 'battle groups' – multinational military units of about 1,500 men each.” Libyan leader Moamar Gaddafi, who had earlier offered to accept some humanitarian assistance in Misrata, vowed to fight any foreign soldiers on Libyan territory.

Libyan Rebels: Dependent Minions of U.S. and Europe

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

The rebel rejection of an African Union ceasefire plan in Libya was to be expected, given that they are backed by the firepower of the Euro-American military colossus. In a real sense, however, “the rebels are not in a position to accept or reject anything,” having “chosen to become soldiers of an Arab counterrevolution in the service of imperialism.” While western pundits scoff at the African Union as a “club” serving the interests of the continent’s rulers, the rebels are mere minions of “the most dangerous club on the planet”: NATO.
