White Nationalism on the March

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version
by BAR executive editor Glen Ford
The white nationalists of the Tea Party “movement” claim to abhor big government, but what they actually reject is a social contract with the non-white populations of the United States. Race is the subtext, the coded message of the Right's resurgence. The white Right want “their” country back – but we won't let them have it.

White Nationalism on the March
by BAR executive editor Glen Ford
Any group whose unifying characteristic is daily engorgement on Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck is, by definition, racist.”
The campaign to bring White nationalism, the founding ideology of the United States, fully out of the closet, kicks into a higher gear on the Right’s anti-holiday, April 15. Newt Gingrich and the various tribes of White Rightists unveil their “Contract From America,” a scaled-down version of the manifesto the Republicans rallied around to win control of the U.S. House of Representatives, in 1994. The 2010 “contract” is leaner, built for mass Caucasian consumption. It is written largely in code, the language of obfuscation that American racists speak in an attempt to hide their white supremacist beliefs from others – and, in many cases, from themselves. Indeed, much of American mass political speech is conducted in code, allowing white people to identify each other through terms like “middle class,” “family values,” “taxpayers,” “patriots,” “law-abiding” – terms which, although literally applicable to people of every ethnicity, are understood to mean “good white American citizens.”
Corporate media almost universally describe the Tea Partyers as “anti-government” – which is nonsense. They oppose the government providing assistance – economic, legal, educational, real or imagined – to those that are “undeserving,” which in their world consists mostly of folks that can be defined by race, language or religion (using code words, when required by polite society). Naturally, the average Tea Partyer – when sober – will deny having “a racist bone” in his body, but any group whose unifying characteristic is daily engorgement on Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck is, by definition, racist. Anyone who tries to tell you different, is far too tolerant of bigoted behavior, assumptions and speech to be anything but a closet racist, himself.
Tea Partyers live in a world of throbbing hatreds that render them damn near incoherent. They shout and hoot and holler in fevered support of political statements with which they cannot possibly agree. For example, the highly popular “Limited Government” plank of The Contract states:
The purpose of our government is to exercise only those limited powers that have been relinquished to it by the people, chief among these being the protection of our liberties by administering justice and ensuring our safety from threats arising inside or outside our country’s sovereign borders.”
Tea Partyers live in a world of throbbing hatreds that render them damn near incoherent.”
That means, the government should provide only police, criminal justice and public safety services, and a national defense. No public schools or publicly supported colleges, no tax breaks for homeowners, none of the public supports that “middle class,” “law-abiding,” “patriotic,” “taxpayers” with strong “family values” have been demanding for themselves for the last 65 years. (“And don’t you dare touch my Medicare!”)
Any “movement” that actually believed in as shrunken a government as The Contract describes would be either very rich, or very tiny. The plank only begins to make sense when understood as a kind of scatter-shot code talk for restricting government assistance to “worthy” Americans, and cutting the flotsam and jetsam people loose.
What the Tea Partyers really oppose is a social contract among all the resident peoples of the United States. In this, they are indeed the direct political progeny of the Founding Fathers and the great mass of white settlers, who found the very concept of full U.S. citizenship for Africans and Native Americans monstrously repugnant, a devaluation of their superior white selves. Racism in the national womb prevented the United States from forging a genuine social contract between whites and Others. More to the point, white people rejected any relationship that did not recognize and maintain white supremacy. This was to be forever a White Man’s country, expanding as far as might and money could take it – but white, white, white.
What the Tea Partyers really oppose is a social contract among all the resident peoples of the United States.”
The white nationalists want their white nation back. But they can’t have it. And, since there can be no bargaining on that issue, there is no reason whatsoever for Blacks and browns and people of good will to engage or humor the Tea Party’s white nationalists. There is nothing to concede to them, and nothing they can offer us to which we are not already entitled.
Prominent peace activists are eager to engage the Tea Party, in search of common ground in opposition to government waste through war. It is true that Tea Party darling Rep. Ron Paul, the libertarian Republican and former presidential candidate, fights as hard as anyone on The Hill against bloated military budgets. But the anti-war movement will soon discover that all but a sliver of the Tea Party crowd are belligerent hawks, as racist in their global worldview as in their domestic outlook. Just as they reject a national social contract with non-whites, they reject any compact with other peoples of the world, particularly the non-white ones. White American nationalism is warlike, expansionist, and proud of it – a grave danger to the survival of humanity.

WHITE EUROPEANS

Most all the oil rights on earth have always been owned by white Europeans.

The only five invaded nations on earth now occupied are Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Canada and the United States. All occupied by white Europeans.

Wars are always won by the nations most aggressive, domineering, hostile and willing to use brutal terror and deadly force, the world’s record in this regard since the Christian Crusades without question being white Europeans.

Over 90% of the war materials and nuclear weapons on earth are manufactured, owned and kept busy a butchering and a slaughtering by an ungodly race of animals known as white Europeans.

All to prove the harm in a race so god-ego driven by pride, that it uses race hatred to conquer, enslave and divide.

Note: above post authored by a white laboring man who grew up in the slums of Milwaukee, Minneapolis and LA.

Read the fucking Russell Means Memo.. and grow a pair

As Y has valiantly attempted to educate us:  "Stop looking at the world through Euro-Centric lenses.  That's a recipe for a grand fuck up.  Read the Russell Means Memo dammnit.

Ideological purity is about as pure as my sex drive, or "yours."  I prefer Sanaa Latham or Alicia Keyes but Mo'Nique will do in a pinch.  "You feel me?"  African and Asian and other civilizations conducted trade and commerce when the Anglo-Saxons were eating their dead in caves.  That's not a "racial" statement, "just the facts Ma'am."  Russell Means and "Y" have attempted to explain why we should be wary of looking at the world through the Euro-Centric, reductionist, mathematically linear world view.  Shit ain't real.  Get it.  Fuck Descartes, he wouldn't have known shit were it not for the Ptolemic Pharonic Kingdoms.

Socialism, Marxism, Capitalism, Facism are all European constructs.  The sooner Black folks discard this phoney shit the better off we'll be.  Fast forward, look at the Libetarians.  As Glen Ford illumines, Paul is a staunch anti-imperialist whereas the Tea Partiers are stauch pro-imperialists and worshippers of American Exceptionalism, the root and branch of White Supremacy.

It's not just some walk down memory lane to understand African Kingdoms in all their splendor and glory.  Of course it's equally foolish to glamorize them to the hilt.  Bottom line:  trade and commerce existed before the Middle Ages, before the Age of Enlightment, before the Industrial Revolution and all those other ""White" achievements. Read the friggin memo and grow a pair.

Tea Partier's: "thou wish is granted."

Racial segregation returns to schools
Ruling on racial isolation in Miss. system reflects troubling broader trend
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36660242/ns/us_news-washington_post/

"Justice officials said they have sometimes found that local school boards have adopted policies that undermine those orders, a situation that some experts say reflects a misguided sense that civil rights concerns are somehow a thing of the past.

Studies have shown schools drifting back into segregation since the 1980s, when the federal government became less aggressive in its enforcement. The Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that school districts cannot make racial balance a policy goal unless -- as is the case in Walthall -- they are attempting to comply with a federal desegregation order.

"School boards are constantly under pressure from privileged parts of their districts, and if there isn't any counterbalance of civil rights enforcement policy, you can easily end up with a set of decisions that increase segregation," said Gary Orfield, director of the civil rights project at the University of California at Los Angeles."  (Get it:  "there isn't any counterbalance of civil rights enforcement policy."  That's one of the principle purposes of glorifying and exalting the Tea Party movement:  to blunt civil rights and progressive policy).

Now aint that a blip.  When White folks sprint away from "Black" schools it's called "progress," and achievement.  When Blacks say, "Don't fight White Flight, embrace it, it is what it is, Blacks now have an opportunity to chart their OWN educational futures," it's called militant, or radical, or Black Nationalist. (Notice how "charter schools" aren't in the "hood?")

Would you crackers make up your mind???  Welcome to the world  the Tea Party intends to accelerate.  But don't get mad, get "even."  I've said it a thousand times, you can't impede segregation, you can't change neighborhood demographics, some Black doctor or lawyer "moving on up," ain't going to get it.   Welcome to "Post-Racial" Amerikka where racial segregation, ACTUATED BY WHITES, is increasing at a break-neck pace.  Now do you understand why the Tea Partiers don't won't federal intrusion but more "States" rights?  It ain't rocket science folks.  Local control means local discrimination.

The "evidence" also demonstrates the folly of the Civil Right's Movement emphasis on "integration."  The only integration that matters in a capitalistic society is ECONOMIC INTEGRATION.  Ask the Chinese, the Hispanics, the Hmong in Mississippi, the Hasidics in New York... get the picture??  Don't get made if (and hopefully when) Blacks embrace their isolation and use it to their advantage.  I can only dream of this day.  Don't get offended or off-base when Whites attempt to mute Black progress and self-determination with cries of "racism"  or "reverse discrimination."  Isn't that what the "conservative" white and Negroes crow about, self-determination?  Fuck them, we didn't invent scientific racism and we ain't engaged in Black Flight from White enclaves. We are not the ones, consciously, deliberately, systematically, using legal and extra-legal means to seperate ourselves racially.

I say, embrace it, accept it and move on.  White Nationalism is on the march, time for the Black Nationalists to strap their boots on too.  The material world of the European mindset dictates winners and losers, and the well-heeled Tea Partiers are determined to be the winners.  Remember:  "School Boards are under constant pressure from privileged parts of their districts." It's all about the "benjamins" folks and it a capitalistic society it always will be.  Until African Americans face the naked truth we'll remain second class in myraid respects, and will be dropping the baton, again, in the race to determine who avoids the bottom.

Charter Schools

Mr. E.C.,
Charter schools are primarily in low to moderate communities.  Code for poor black and latino communities. I can only recall seeing one majority white charter school in my personal research on the subject.
Though white majority schools are better schools, they, like most American schools are inadequate on an international basis. These black charter schools are better in some cases than their local offering, but that is like saying Church's chicken is more nutritious than KFC.  A difference without a distinction.

Proof positive of GOP co-option of the Tea Party

Watch this youtube clip of the Tea Partiers cannabilizng one of their own.   Mr. Walsh apparently had the misfortune of speaking to that "41% who believe Palin is Presidential material."  And "Leftists" are suppose to "reason" with this people?  Don't make me laugh....or throw up:

The Tea Party needs to adopt Obummer's slogan, it aptly describes their own fraudulent nature:   "Change you can believe in."   LOL

The angry, "well-educated" white men who are at the helm of the Tea Party just can't get enough of Ms. Palin.  I believe they secretly lust for her.  Are the Tea Partiers thinking with their little head?    Sarah Palin = Tea Party eye candy.  LOL

Back on Uncle Sam's plantation

If you could only step back and look at the big picture...
Star Parker - Syndicated Columnist

Six years ago I wrote a book called  Uncle Sam's Plantation .  I wrote the book to tell my own story of what I saw living inside the welfare state and my own transformation out of it.
I said in that book that indeed there are two Americas -- a poor America on socialism and a wealthy America on capitalism.
I talked about government programs like Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Job Opportunities and Basic Skills Training (JOBS), Emergency Assistance to Needy Families with Children (EANF), Section 8 Housing, and Food Stamps.
A vast sea of perhaps well-intentioned government programs, all initially set into motion in the 1960s by Democrats, that were going to lift the nation's poor out of poverty.
A benevolent Uncle Sam welcomed mostly poor black Americans onto the government plantation.  Those who accepted the invitation switched mindsets from "How do I take care of myself?" to "What do I have to do to stay on the plantation?"
Instead of solving economic problems, government welfare socialism created monstrous moral and spiritual problems -- the kind of problems that are inevitable when individuals turn responsibility for their lives over to others.
The legacy of American socialism is our blighted inner cities, dysfunctional inner city schools, and broken black families.
Through God's grace, I found my way out.  It was then that I understood what freedom meant and how great this country is.
I had the privilege of working on welfare reform in 1996 which was passed by a Republican controlled Congress.
I thought we were on the road to moving socialism out of our poor black communities and replacing it with wealth-producing American capitalism.
But, incredibly, we are now   going in the opposite direction.
Instead of poor America on socialism becoming more like rich American on capitalism, rich America on capitalism is becoming like poor America on socialism.
Uncle Sam has welcomed our banks onto the plantation and they have said, "Thank you, Suh."
Now, instead of thinking about what creative things need to be done to serve customers, they are thinking about what they have to tell Massah in order to get their cash.
There is some kind of irony that this is all happening under our first black president on the 200th anniversary of the birthday of Abraham Lincoln.
Worse, socialism seems to be the element of our new young president.  And maybe even more troubling, our corporate executives seem happy to move onto the plantation.
In an op-Ed on the opinion page of the Washington Post, Mr. Obama is clear that the goal of his trillion dollar spending plan is much more than short term economic stimulus.
"This plan is more than a prescription for short-term spending -- it's a strategy for America 's long-term growth and opportunity in areas such as renewable energy, healthcare, and education."
Perhaps more incredibly, Obama seems to think that government taking over an economy is a new idea.  Or that massive growth in government can take place "with unprecedented transparency and accountability."
Yes, sir, we heard it from Jimmy Carter when he created the Department of Energy, the Synfuels Corporation, and the Department of Education.
Or how about the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 -- The War on Poverty -- which President Johnson said "...does not merely expand old programs or improve what is already being done.  It charts a new course.  It strikes at the causes, not just the consequences of poverty."
Trillions of dollars later, black poverty is the same.  But black families are not, with triple the incidence of single-parent homes and out-of-wedlock births.
It's not complicated.  Americans can accept Barack Obama's invitation to move onto the plantation.  Or they can choose personal responsibility and freedom.
Does anyone really need to think about what the choice should be?
"The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." -- Margaret Thatcher
TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN.

HOW YOU CAN HELP OUR COUNTRY AND YOURS

Dear Star,
If you could only get your head out of Lincolns' and those so other, called founding father's backsides, you might see the more relevant big picture more clearly; not to mention helping our country to wake up. But alas, I must caution that any one, no not just anyone, any African American that is capable of  making the below proclamation with starry eyed glee is no doubt going to have a hell of a hard time wiping that Mythos crap from their eyes.
Since I can't really add anymore to what  Enlightened Cynic has expressed; I'll leave it here with your words of wisdom below. OH, and good luck climbing the capitalists ladder...better stop by Oprah's crib and pick a few tips and tricks along the way. She's no doubt also has a strategy of how to talk Obama out of turning the US into a Socialistic night mare. Bottums's Up!

How I can help our country.
Today is not business as usual in America.

American prosperity was built on freedom and now our country is morally and financially bankrupt. We are at a crossroads and our country is divided.

Abraham Lincoln reminded his generation that "A house divided against itself cannot stand."

The question then was whether America would be a nation of slaves or a free nation.

Government now takes almost half of our national income yet, poverty does not change. Poor kids don't get educated. We're piling up debt that our kids will never be able to pay. And we're becoming less rather than more competitive in the international marketplace. We're becoming weaker, not stronger.

We have a Peter versus Paul dilemma: we have too many Peters willing to rob from Paul. In order for our country to survive, the Peters must get a message about freedom and want to be free.

So the question today before us: are we going to be a free nation under God? Or are we going to be a welfare state?

For twenty-five years I have carried the message of freedom, and my life's story embodies the greatness of America: that as long as there is a rule of law and protection of private property, any one from any background or any ethnicity or just in need of a fresh start and new birth can live free and prosper.

This is why I'm running.

I hope you will support me in this bid to the US House of Representatives for the 37th California Congressional district in Los Angeles County which includes Compton, Carson, Signal Hill and Long Beach.

I would love the opportunity to share my ideas inside the Congressional Black Caucus to help turn these neighborhoods as well as this nation towards our founding principles of traditional values, limited government, free markets, and a strong national defense.

God bless you.

Star Parker

That "Socialism" vs. "Capitalism" dichotomy ain't the real world

Now these good, salt-of-the-earth White folks ain't getting no welfare or gummint cheese, but they ass-out like the rest of the working class.  Let's see how well "capitalism" is working for them.  See, they loovveee them some capitalism, unfortunately capitalism doesn't looooveee them.   I pity the fool.

 Addendum 1:

Oh snap!    It looks like the financial backers of the Tea Party Movement, that "Give me liberty, give me death" crowd, actually made their fortune off of  "gulp"...  Stalinist Russia.  More cognitive dissonance on display in Amerikka, do as I say not as I do.  Courtesy of Yasha Levine at truthdig.com:

http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/tea_party_financiers_owe_their_fortu...

"The Tea Party movement’s dirty little secret is that its chief financial backers owe their family fortune to the granddaddy of all their hatred: Stalin’s godless empire of the USSR. The secretive oil billionaires of the Koch family, the main supporters of the right-wing groups that orchestrated the Tea Party movement, would not have the means to bankroll their favorite causes had it not been for the pile of money the family made working for the Bolsheviks in the late 1920s and early 1930s, building refineries, training Communist engineers and laying down the foundation of Soviet oil infrastructure."

Looks like the old-time, cut-throast capitalists didn't cotton to the Kochs very well so they used the "free market" to shut the Kochs out of the oil refinery business.  But being good, non-ideological capitalists, the Kochs plied their wares to Josef Stalin and made a bundle in the process.   Pssst., but don't tell that to the Tea Partiers, don't want to fuck up their neat, tidy, little world, with those big, bad, nasty complexities of life.

"We are the world’s greatest market, and we are prepared to order a large amount of goods and pay for them," Joseph Stalin told an American journalist in 1932. Stalin wasn’t kidding. From 1926 to 1929, the Soviet oil industry bought $20 million worth of equipment. And Koch was about to get in on the action.

In 1929, after hosting a delegation of Soviet planners in Wichita, Kansas, Winkler and Koch signed a $5 million contract to build 15 refineries in the Soviet Union. According to Oil of Russia, a Russian oil industry trade magazine, the deal made Winkler-Koch into Comrade Stalin’s number-one refinery builder. It provided equipment and oversaw construction.

Aha!  No wonder Kansas was a hot bed of radicalism for decades as documented in "What's the Matter with Kansas."   After all the Tea Party funders loved Josef Stalin and those Russian rubles.  Sort of like the present day American Capitalists who love those Communist China markets.

Word to the Tea Partiers, if you can't refine your thoughts beyond simplistic, black/white, bullshit worldviews, then STFU and keep that stupid shit to yourselves.

hahahahahaa

That's the money shot if there ever was one! Good find. Kinda like the corporations in the US who financed Hitler . . . and then how the CIA recruited the Nazi scientists to become the cornerstone for some of their most top secret stuff after WWII. So maybe, just maybe the issue isn't capitalism vs. socialism, but large scale endeavors of Empire that when they get to a certain point start to look a hell of a lot like one another . . . and become mutually re-enforcing. All based on Western dynamics of thinking of efficiency and materialism . . . nature and human beings become mere gears in the machine. These philosophical arguments all have a common origin so maybe we should not be surprised that they are actually kissing cousins . . .
As Russell Means pointed out:
"Descartes did the same thing with culture. John Locke did it with politics, and Adam Smith did it with economics. Each one of these "thinkers" took a piece of the spirituality of human existence and converted it into a code, an abstraction. They picked up where Christianity ended: they "secularized" Christian religion, as the "scholars" like to say - and in doing so they made Europe more able and ready to act as an expansionist culture. Each of these intellectual revolutions served to abstract the European mentality even further, to remove the wonderful complexity and spirituality from the universe and replace it with a logical sequence: one, two, three. Answer!.
This is what has come to be termed "efficiency" in the European mind. Whatever is mechanical is perfect; whatever seems to work at the moment - that is, proves the mechanical model to be the right one - is considered correct, even when it is clearly untrue. This is why "truth" changes so fast in the European mind; the answers which result from such a process are only stopgaps, only temporary, and must be continuously discarded in favor of new stopgaps which support the mechanical models and keep them (the models) alive.
Hegel and Marx were heirs to the thinking of Newton, Descartes, Locke and Smith. Hegel finished the process of secularizing theology - and that is put in his own terms - he secularized the religious thinking through which Europe understood the universe. Then Marx put Hegel's philosophy in terms of "materialism," which is to say that Marx despiritualized Hegel's work altogether. Again, this is in Marx' own terms. And this is now seen as the future revolutionary potential of Europe. Europeans may see this as revolutionary, But American Indians see it simply as still more of that same old European conflict between being and gaining . The intellectual roots of a new Marxist form of European imperialism lie in Marx' - and his followers' - links to the tradition of Newton, Hegel, and the others. . . But, as I've tried to point out, this very "truth" is deceptive. Revolutionary Marxism is committed to even further perpetuation and perfection of the very industrial process which is destroying us all. It offers only to "redistribute" the results - the money, maybe - of this industrialization to a wider section of the population. It offers to take wealth from the capitalists and pass it around; but in order to do so, Marxism must maintain the industrial system. Once again, the power relations with European society will have to be altered, but once again the effects upon American Indian peoples here and non-Europeans elsewhere will remain the same. This much the same as when power was redistributed from the church to private business during the so-called bourgeois revolution. European society changed a bit, at least superficially, but its conduct toward non-Europeans continued as before. You can see what the American Revolution of 1776 did for American Indians. It's the same old song. . .  I look to the process of industrialization in the Soviet Union since 1920 and I see that these Marxists have done what it took the English Industrial Revolution 300 years to do; and the Marxists did it in 60 years. Another great insight...

Russell Means breaks it down.  And a reflective person can see exactly what he's driving at:  the human mind is incapable of comprehending the omniscient, the complexities and secrets of the universe.  One simply has to casually follow the "breakthroughs" or explorations in the science of psychics.  Each year scientists uncover "laws" and princples they do not fully understand, that challenge the scientific status quo:  worm holes, parallel universes, the "bending" of space and time, "dark matter," and similar wonders.  Truth is, "man" will never understand it all, it is not meant to be, because "man" is not "God".  Thus, in our material world, "shock and awe" becomes a moniker for war and destruction rather than a description of the wonders and mysteries of nature.

The reductionism Means speaks of is reflected daily. It permeates the culture of most socieites, particularly the so-called "advanced" ones.   The reason Democrats and "Liberals" can support a President who emulates Geo. Bush is because of this reductionism, the reason that Muslims can be slaughtered like roaches is reductionism, the reason that Tea Partiers can disconnect from reality and ignore the Kochs past is reductionism, the reason that the "church" in America and elsewhere is silent and ineffective as a vehicle for change is reductionism, the ends always justify the means, as Y writes, 1, 2, 3 result.  And the ends is the amplification of the material world that correlates into the denigration of the spiritual one.  "Man" and mankind is nothing but a metric, a statistic, an integer, so we apply linear mathematics to get efficient results.

Some well-made points, but by and large oversimplifications

While I can't completely dismiss your charge that welfare or government programs have had some negative effects on Blacks, your charges are over simplified.  The problem of so many "analyses" of socialism is that they are based on superficiality.  First and foremost, you appear to dismiss institutional racism as cause and effect.  Historically, Black have successfully engaged in what you call "capitalism" for decades.  But all to often the reaction of the White Establishment was to destroy the things that Blacks built up.  Thus, Black Wall Street in Tulsa, OK was destroyed, literally and pscyhologically.  It was a blatant and unmitigated act of domestic terrorism.  When extra-legal acts such as murder, maiming and lynching didn't work, or when Blacks were'nt literally ran off their lands and out of their town by White Mobs, then Whites resorted to "legal" mechanisms.  They used trade unions and other barriers to entry as tools of financial and political oppression.  They used "trade associations" to create phony "standards" of "excellence."  They used "regulations" to make it more difficult to own and start businesses.  Want to practice "capitalism" then try to get a cab or street vendor's license in New York, or try to rehabilitate a dilapidated structure in most any American city, see how much cooperation you get from building officials.
You ignore hundreds of years of blatant economic terrorism, lynchings, "sun-down towns," and the like.

You also dismiss the fact that "capitalism" is rigged.  Not only rigged against Blacks but rigged against smaller White businesses as well.   It's all well and good to make arguments about "personal responsibility" but to do so ignoring how the system is rigged does a disservice.

On a personal note, I've worked P-T jobs for years to "get ahead" only to find out each year (this year being no different) that I owe Uncle Sam taxes.  The Tax Code is not "rigged" for me, I can't "shelter" my meagre earnings in off-shore "tax shelters" in the Caymans.  Responsibility plays no role here, indeed a responsible person might just say fuck it, what's the point of trying to get ahead, it's all a sum zero game.

Your points have some merit, but you need to dig a whole lot deeper for true understanding.  "Socialism" works quite well in other parts of the world, "socialism" mixed with capitalism.  For anyone to believe that after 400 years of naked terror and exploitation Blacks are now suppose to pull themselves up by their bootsraps is intellectually dishonest if not out and out childish.  It's certainly ahistorical.

What about.

The EU economies?  This is my--perhaps--poor example?

Socialism "mixed" with capitalism does not work.

Capitalism is based on profit and the exploitation of labor.  This is incompatible with the tenets of Socialism.  Unfortunately there has been so much propaganda to taint Socialism that people are confused.  Socialism is about economic democracy.  Capitalism is the antithisis of democracy and therefore you can only have either Capitalism OR Socialism but not both.

Greetings . . .  You can say

Greetings . . .
You can say socialism is "this" and capitalism is "that" or capitalism is "this" and socialism is "that," but ON THE GROUND, both have proven to not be what the theoreticians would have us believe. It's just as naive to think of "free markets" being possible as it is to think of "pure socialism" to exist - they only exist on the theoretician's paper. If they DO exist CLOSE to the theories, it is on the small scale and in closed loops. The issue I think is the MASSIVENESS of the endeavors that both socialism and capitalism serve as the underlying economic/social theory for. Economic theories cannot be divorced from their pro-genitor culture, cultural mores, values, etc. just as religion cannot be either. Economic theories serve as a REFLECTION of the underlying culture from which they spring and bring along with it the same prejudices, worldviews and assumptions. As I pointed out in another post, capitalism and socialism/communism spring from the same cultural mind and thus have some very similar problems, especially when viewed upon by the "expanded" upon.
Now if we want to discuss "socialism" and "capitalism" outside the dominant western paradigms and implementations, then maybe we can see the benefits of each in different situations. Even then, the capitalist will see capitalism existing in, for example, indigenous societies as the socialist will see socialism existing in indigenous societies. Stepping outside this argument . . . nature abhors empire(whether it's capitalist or socialist) and man's attempts to universalize always will eventually run into problems as they are anti-thetical to the diversity of our root/source(nature). There will always need to be greater and more artificial means combined with repressive measures to prop up human organization/societies that refuse to conform to the fact that "the only thing constant is change." Keywords on the periphery from our current experience and lexicon: GMO's, Homeland Security, Monocultures/Pesticides, strengthening of the Executive branch, loss of civil liberties, culling the herd,  expansion of resistant diseases, Fascism, command and control, centralization, repressive police state, etc . . .

Earl Caldwell, longtime journalist, "ripped" the NYTimes yesterd

ay on his show in his opening monologue, on WBAI.  "The Caldwell Chronicle", archived free for 90 days on WBAI.  Note: There has been a coup at WBAI, see www.takebackwbai.org
Caldwell, who had worked for the NYTimes, is good on how journalism has worked/works or doesn't work. (He is teaching journalism.) He pointed out yesterday, that placement is everything (which I knew) - upper right on page 1 (of print copy) is first read and most important spot as defined by NYTimes.
The big point he made: why is the story only about a poll and no information about who the Tea Party people are, where there money comes from, do they have meetings/who?   He links it to his experience of the late 1960s, when the NYTimes did a Gallup poll and then sent reporters to Harlem. (He was on West Coast, covering Black Panthers and went to court to keep his notes secret and out of gov't hands - long, good story, up to US Supreme Ct. and bad decision came down, with deciding vote by new appointee Rhenquist who'd been a prosecutor earlier to whom Caldwell would not release his notes.)  Colleagues told him how when they got to one address in poll comments that it was a vacant lot.  The black journalists got that from local residents who said they gave the pollsters what they thought they wanted to hear.  Punchline: NYTimes covered that up.  But he tells it better.  He links to cutbacks in newsrooms and where do we get information?

Maybe they ain't stupid, just racist????

According to the "Gospel" of the Tea Party, Fox News:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/04/15/tea-party-supporters-richer-e...

"Tea Partiers make more money and are better educated than most Americans, a new poll out Thursday found.

The New York Times/CBS News poll took the temperature of Tea Party supporters on a number of topics, and turned up some results that might seem apparent -- Tea Partiers mostly describe themselves as "very conservative," they say President Obama's policies favor the poor and they describe the president as "very liberal."

So the Tea Party, like Palin, is really a bunch of White Yuppies, gaming the ignorant "rednecks" we've perhaps given to much credit in leading the Tea Party.  Come to think of it, them "Rednecks" probably humping like the rest of us and to busy (and broke) to join rallies in D.C., or pay for $200 plate dinners to listen to the Lady from Wasilla.

Aha!  The Prez' s policies FAVOR THE POOR??  So my rant was justified?  "Get up off your asses, you broke M.F.r's,  how I'm living?"  (channeling Dave Chappelle) Correction:  Perhaps the Tea Party is better educated, BUT obviously still stupid because they believe "The President's policies favor the poor."  lol

Update #1:  I'm confused, like the Tea Partiers.  Maybe they aint stupid, just selfish pricks?

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/15/us/politics/15poll.html?th&emc=th

"But in follow-up interviews, Tea Party supporters said they did not want to cut Medicare or Social Security — the biggest domestic programs, suggesting instead a focus on “waste.”

Some defended being on Social Security while fighting big government by saying that since they had paid into the system, they deserved the benefits.

Others could not explain the contradiction.

“That’s a conundrum, isn’t it?” asked Jodine White, 62, of Rocklin, Calif. “I don’t know what to say. Maybe I don’t want smaller government. I guess I want smaller government and my Social Security.” She added, “I didn’t look at it from the perspective of losing things I need. I think I’ve changed my mind.”

No shit.  "This is a conumdrum, isn't it?"  Not really, you just some selfish, self-centered, White-privileged M.F.rs at the end of the day. They won't to focus on "waste"  hint, hint...That would be them day-cares and rec centers, don't fuck with them public golf courses.  lol

My comment landed above, was meant as reply re NYTimes poll

It ended up in wrong place after I logged in.

Not sure where these polls

Not sure where these polls originate from or how reliable they are. At this point it's just a damn circus. And yes, mission accomplished . . . people even more polarized than before as the Empire marches on. You know it's interesting watching some old clips from 2007 and 2008 when Ron Paul and Kucinich were running for president, the amount of potential that existed then for some kind of partnership. Ron Paul saying that he differed with Kucinich on some issues but they saw eye to eye on many things, most importantly the military and interventionism/imperialism.  Ron Paul conceded that although he didn't believe in what he terms "government entitlement" programs, he said we could find money for it if we cut military spending, that it was something that he would much rather see funds going to than the military. We also had Ron Paul receiving more money from the branches of the US Military than any other candidate(definitely because of his foreign policy position and shutting down the bases of empire around the world). Interesting . .. the disconnect between policy and the will of the people implementing the policy on the ground.  I think depending on the media to get any sense whatsoever of the situation and to know what "the people think" is just a bad policy. What we have now is polarization to the nth degree and lots of half-truths deciding the terms for debate and discourse. We can't say for certain that there are not elements that wish to completely cause chaos amongst the people and confuse to the point where there is no definitive construct in people's minds between an ass and an elbow. Paul came out at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference and stated that "Obama is not a socialist, he is a corporatist" and recently pointed out that using the fear of illegal immigration to stir up support for a National ID card is something to be weary of. Not sure if the "tea-baggers" are really listening to this. But then again, I'm getting my opinion of this amorphis mass known as "tea party" from media, whether mainstream or alternative. The mediation point is NOT personal experience, it is media stories and we generally chose the one that fits closest to our personal beliefs.  When Fox News let's Glenn Beck paint Obama as a socialist and progressives all together in one lump, that is a great disservice. Yet when the "other side" paints the "Tea Party" in the same way, ignoring differences, it is supposed to be "on point." Not really sure how that logic works.  You know when George Soros was funding opposition to Bush and organizations like Move On, it really wasn't news except for a few people who were really paying attention. We have Dick Armey's organization sponsoring the tea party tax day protest in DC and Ron Paul is to be featured.  "Armey served another four years before announcing his retirement in 2002. In his last legislative effort, he was named chairman of the House Select Committee on Homeland Security and was the primary sponsor of the legislation that created the Department of Homeland Security." Armey's dual loyalties throughout his career betray his intentions and show him to be a true con man.  Ron Paul will be delivered to the dustbin of obscurity once the Empire maintainers on the right are done with his image being used to front their "populist" resurgence of the Republican party.
There is a lot of "potential" for dialogue between the artificial political divides of what can be termed "constitutionalists" on the Right and the true Leftists.  It is easy to find the old tea parties online and what they stood/stand for. Just as it is easy to find true leftist organizations and see what they stand for. Really the American people have all the access they need at their fingertips to decipher for themselves what is going on . . . yet continue to rely on corporate media to sway them one way or the other. It is mind boggling when you think about it.  True dissent in the country lately has been a small time affair that often time finds itself betrayed when it translates to the larger audience, corrupted by the influence of money and cooption by the powers that be. Really if the people ACTUALLY believed in the true tenants of "progress" or "liberty" we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now. There are very few who actually follow the tenants . . .the staged mass movements however illuminate the mentality that is present in the population at large.  It is stuck in a morass, rage fueled by ignorance and entitlement and beliefs in bullshit whether spiritual or political don't lead anywhere and BEG to be led . . . that's the root of the co-option. And that goes for those on the left and the right - how easily both are led to the slaughter because they don't do their damn homework, it's gonna be Obama/Clinton or Gingrich/Palin every single damn time! In other countries, people actually organize and take common stands for or against things.  Community is lacking in this country, we are dependent on the system for every damn thing, whether it is from the government or the corporations. How can we make independent decisions when our very life is tied in with the systems we choose to disdain?

Co-opted, or, Co-Conspirators???

That's a central question is it not?  As we peel back the layers of the onions a couple of "truths" seem manifest:

1.  The Tea Partiers are a bunch of old, middle to upper-middle class, fairly well-educated BIGOTS who sup at the pig trough of American Exceptionalism, the root and branch of White Supremacy and cognitive dissonance.  If they weren't so morally and intellectually bankrupt, some coalescing and coalitons might be possible.  But they are too imbued with race and class privilege to see the light of the day.

2.  The Media is a mix of young and old, middle to upper class, fairly well educated BIGOTS who sup at the pig trough of American Exceptionalism,-- Liberals and Conservatives alike- there's no real distinction.  If it ain't the "Hurt Locker" it's "Full Metal Jacket," or  "Apocalypse Now," you have either the kindler and gentler version of Imperialism/Paternalism, or the meaner, natavistic version of Imperialism/Ubermensch.

Doesn't matter whether its' the Wall St. Journal, Fox News, CNN, or the Christian Science Monitor, they all want to sanitize and glorfiy the Tea Party as something momentus and "democratic,"  when, in reality, all it consists of is latent Amerikkan bigotry, self-righteous, facism, and denigration of "the other,"  that ugly side of America that has always existed, but becomes more fervent and vicious during times of economic hardship.   The ultra-reactionary element of Amerikka has ALWAYS existed, oft times behind sheets, now they are behind the cameras and in the studios.  When Gil Scott said the "Revolution will be Televised."  he obviously didn't forsee the Right Wing Consolidation of the media,-- of all "thought," and social/political discourse.  Not even Orwell could have predicted the Propaganda Machine humming along today.  The Tea Party Movement is the White Man's version of Gil Scott's prediction.

I submit that the Tea Partiers and the MSM are largely co-conspirators in the Right Wing poison and vitriol that is tearing down this country.  The Politico, hardly a liberal rag, brings us the cold, hard facts:

http://digg.com/d31OWap

"The Tea Party has been billed as an organic grassroots operation, but a newly uncovered document obtained by Politico suggests the movement has been successfully co-opted as a Republican fundraising ploy.

GOP political consultant Joe Wierzbicki floated the proposal a year ago today to create the Tea Party Express, a nationwide bus tour to "give a boost to our PAC and position us as a growing force/leading force as the 2010 elections come into focus." His idea eventually became one of the best known brands in the Tea Party movement."

"The document cautioned planners to be careful when discussing the ruse to use Tea Parties for political gain. "We have to be very, very careful about discussing amongst ourselves anyone we include 'outside of the family' because quite frankly, we are not only not part of the political establishment or conservative establishment, but we are also sadly not currently a part of the 'tea party' establishment," Wierzbicki wrote."

"Wierzbicki, who works for the Sacramento firm Russo Marsh + Rogers, went on to outline how conservative media including Fox News could be leveraged to hype the Tea Party Express. He recommended using "mentions and possibly even promotion from conservative/pro-tea party bloggers, talk radio hosts, Fox News commentators, etc..."

So there you have it folks, proof of the confluence of the co-conspirators, the Right Wing, monied Tea Partiers and the GOP, and the Right Wing media playing us a song and dance.  Not one media outlet be they "liberal" or "conservative" (excepting some on-line publications that frankly few lazy, illiterate Amerikkans read) will discuss the truth behind the Tea Partiers, these knuckle-dragging astroturfers.

Equally, they damn sure won't be carrying interviews of the "Black is Back Movement."  It will be a cold day in hell when Ford, Dixon, Kimberly et al get to grin with Matt & Meredith on the Today Show or poor Robin Roberts over at GMA.  It will be a cold day in hell when the destitution and employment rates or utility cutoffs in Detroit or even the White tent cities in Cali compete with some missing white child story or that of some celeb "zooming who."  Ever wonder what the difference is between the "Today Show," and the "National Enquirer?"  Remember Larry King's endless "reports"  involving Tiger Woods?  And this old bastard can't keep his pecker in his pants.  Anyone who marries seven (7) times is a sick (and stupid) M.F.r anyway.  Amerikka, a cesspool of hypocrites and dingbats riding into the sunset, killing and destroying all who dare cross it's path.

Any way you slice it, we fucked.

Addendum:

It is objectively worthy and noble to talk about or encourage constructive coalitions between the "Left" and the "Right," but I objectively don't see it happening.  Not with the Propaganda perpetrating as "news and analysis," and not when the so-called Party "mavericks" Paul and Kucinich stay appended to the status quo parties.  American has always been about incrementalism.  By example, the news stories today abound with talk about how our public schools are becoming RESEGREGATED not integrated.  So much for Brown v. Board of Ed.  Coolbreeze, I think Malcolm did have it right.

I think you are right. The

I think you are right. The cream will be skimmed off the top of the libertarian views that dovetail with the fake "limited government" Republicans and the rest will be tossed in the trash. Anti-war will be drowned out.
Interesting to see what the Code Pink organizer discovered when she went to the tea party rally in DC yesterday . . . ""I find more hawks here than Ron Paul supporters"  source: voices.washingtonpost.com/right-now/2010/04/code_pink_crashes_tea_party_lo.html
These voices are drowned in the sea: www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php because they are not at the root of the co-opted tea party rage . . .

If 5% of the "intellectuals" were sober and nuanced as "Y"(ou)

.. then I might have some hope.   But the fact of the matter is America is "doomed" for several reasons, anti-intellectualism is chief among them (hypocrisy and dishonesty are woven in the anti-intellectual fabric).  My point is buttressed by illustration of the (Orwellian) "Bank Reform Bill."  Since the Media is inherently Right Wing, AND, moreover, treats politics like some "civil" discourse between the "Bloods" and the "Crips" the truth is typically somewhere in the middle, or not, but either way you won't get it.

Some of the "debates" I frankly tire of reading, I listen to NPR at work all the time so I get some of the MSM "debate" there, but even NPR is rightist to center-right, (depending upon the correspondent).  After all, the Rethugs took it over during the Bush reign of terror. (If the Dems aka Pussy Galore were serious about blunting Right Wing Media they get rid of the scum at NPR and the Federal Communications Commission).  But I digress....

My point is that I oft times don't give a fuck to bother to delve into detail.  (That's part of the Oligarch's mind-fuck, to simply cultivate fatigue as a buffer to change).  But the Rethugs are partially right, though they have no moral high ground with which to argue.  The "Bank Reform" bill does in fact encourage bank failures.  The ink is already dry (and written) on the actuality that "Too Big to Fail" has been INSTITUTIONALIZED and thus, the "reform" debate is moot and meaningless.    Not only has it been institionalized as Policy and Law, but also by the hard core realities and facts of the phony "market place."  In sum, CONSOLIDATION has been acclerated via TARP, which Bush II instituted and Obama carried forward.    And consolidation and monopoly power are the foundational bricks for "Two Big to Fail."  I'm too tired right now to link the articles on this, just Google it or go to World Socialist Website or Counterpuch archves.

The point is that the so-called "debate" is all a mind-fuck and an intellectual, moral, and ultimately financial fraud.  But it seems the US is stuck, festooned on a crash course, so fuck it:  "live, love, and eat."  Looking at this sorry state of affairs reminds me of one of Chris Hedges seminal essays, it keeps resonating in my head, I can't get it out of my mind, the title says it all:

The Best and the Brightest Have Led America Off a Cliff

Don't expect the so-called experts to fix it either. They can't. They are loyal to the decaying political and financial systems that empowered them.

Here's a"teaser" that will lure thoughtful folks to the whole article:
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20081208_hedges_best_brightest/

"The multiple failures that beset the country, from our mismanaged economy to our shredded constitutional rights to our lack of universal health care to our imperial debacles in the Middle East, can be laid at the feet of our elite universities. Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Stanford, along with most other elite schools, do a poor job educating students to think. They focus instead, through the filter of standardized tests, enrichment activities, advanced placement classes, high-priced tutors, swanky private schools and blind deference to all authority, on creating hordes of competent systems managers. The collapse of the country runs in a direct line from the manicured quadrangles and halls in places like Cambridge, Princeton and New Haven to the financial and political centers of power.

The nation’s elite universities disdain honest intellectual inquiry, which is by its nature distrustful of authority, fiercely independent and often subversive. They organize learning around minutely specialized disciplines, narrow answers and rigid structures that are designed to produce certain answers. The established corporate hierarchies these institutions service—economic, political and social—come with clear parameters, such as the primacy of an unfettered free market, and with a highly specialized vocabulary. This vocabulary, a sign of the “specialist” and of course the elitist, thwarts universal understanding. It keeps the uninitiated from asking unpleasant questions. It destroys the search for the common good. It dices disciplines, faculty, students and finally experts into tiny, specialized fragments. It allows students and faculty to retreat into these self-imposed fiefdoms and neglect the most pressing moral, political and cultural questions. Those who defy the system—people like Ralph Nader—are branded as irrational and irrelevant. These elite universities have banished self-criticism. They refuse to question a self-justifying system. Organization, technology, self-advancement and information systems are the only things that matter. "

When you combine the failure of elite institutions to the failure of the media as an honest broker of information, and couple that with a populist-driven, media-driven, pop culture driven, politically driven universal embrace of anti-inlectualism, than to me, the net result as it relates to our future is pretty clear, and prompts me to borrow a phrase from one of BAR's articles concerning Obummer; the phrase serves as an antidote to having  "Great Expectations" as a regular citizen:  Hope is for Dopes.

If Obama is a socialist than I don't like pussy.

Thank you for your intelligence.

* Well I think this is where the libertarians are right and something I've come to realize and something that some on the "left" may have a blindspot to. In a monopolist economy, where the corporations control vast swaths of the economy and the government, "regulation" is written by them for the most part, if not directly, then by default because of the power dynamics. Therefore, "regulation" winds up putting small business out of business because then it is then only the monied interests that can actually comply. Small businesses that weren't part of the shenanigans, who actually more or less were playing by the rules and didn't invest in, for example(in regards to banking) the derivatives market are faced with a mountain of new regulation that they sometimes do not have the capacity to comply with. It in effect wipes out the competition and consolidates the economy further. The same with small farmers and others . . . the big guys with their factory farms are directly responsible for an increase in food borne illness and then when regulation comes in, the small guys are forced into a bureaucratic nightmare that in a fragile economy can very well do them in. The very forces in society that SHOULD be encouraged to flourish are in effect decapitated.
In a way it is corporate "socialism" - where the government ensures monopolies and with the logic of "too big to fail" the modus operandi exists that only continues to justify the status quo(more or less). In that much, the rhetoric of the "Rethugs" is based on some truths when they say regulation will harm the small guy . . .yet this is their populist "front" to a) re-invent themselves after Bush threw their credibility in the toilet b) get "grassroots" support from the "tea party" types who may smell something is up, but because of the "dumb down" and the entitlement issues you have spoken of, they are easily shepharded (most willingly I might add)  -  and ONLY to get "f*ed" in the end . . .even if the Repubs do something "crazy" like invite Ron Paul as a vice president contender in 2012 for a "dream ticket." Paul will be the window dressing . . . like Obama was the window dressing for the "progressive awakening" of America. This lack of "class" solidarity across racial lines that entitlement breeds(white privilege)  disallows  the coalition of the working and middle class that "should" exist but does not.

Small wonder "Rap" Music is dead

You gotta laugh at some of this shit before the apocalypse is upon us.  I wonder what they are saying behind his back, especially if they find out he's boning some of them white chicks???

"I'm not an African American, but I am a horny M.F.r"  Rock on White Chicks!   Some of them swaying hips don't look to bad, especially ol girl with the jeans and pink shirt.   "Coolbreeze, aren't you a musician??"   No more jet lag gigging in Europe?  There's good work out there if you can get it."  lol

Now that's what I call White Nationalism on the March.  "Ten hut."

As Don King would say, " Only in America."   lol

Yeah E.C. I am, but I'd

Yeah E.C. I am, but I'd rather cope with a month of Sundays of Jet lag than to have the misfortune of Jammin' on The One with the likes of that dubious cat.
Who knows, maybe he isn't African American; he just spent a little too much time on his local tanning salon's rotisserie. And to be honest, I might have not wanted to admit it either, contrary to the evidence, if I were facing that sea of white nationalist faces. I can understan it if he wants to support the Tea Party , that's his business and right, but to make such a disclaimer in an atempt to relate to people who were caring signs that read: "Instead of Apologizing for America, Apologize to America". It does boggle the mind.
Maybe Marcus took that suggestion to heart and decided he would apologize for being Afican American, or for at least looking like one. I think a Country Western tune would have been more fitting, but then he would have possibly had to apologize for that. And it would be really funny if he wanted to and they strongly encouraged him to Rap.
It would fit well with their Anti bellum crack pot agenda.
They want their America back all right; replete with good old  fashioned Negroe, Minstrel Intertaiment; back to when African Americans knew better than to try and become president or defy white peopels stereo types of them.

Malcom said that America was a doomed nation;
He may have been on to something.

Maybe these M.F'rs aint as dumb as I think??

Most Tea Partiers deem Palin unqualified for president: poll

Also,

A CNN poll last October found that 7 in 10 Americans across the nation say Palin is unqualified for the highest office, a much larger figure than among Tea Partiers.

(That's because the average person is much smarter than a Tea Partier).

This Should Be On Billboards Across America

Though I rarely re-post anything in its entirety on my blog, I have re-posted this <a href="http://whyaminotsurprised.blogspot.com/2010/04/glen-ford-white-nationalism-on-march.html">here</a>.  If you would prefer that I not do this, please let me know and I will remove it immediately.  I also added Black Agenda Report to my blog roll.  I thought it was already there, but in any case, it's there now.  Thanks for the great work you're doing.

The tea party was co-opted.

The tea party was co-opted. http://caivn.org/article/2009/11/30/tea-party-co-founder-blasts-mainstre... Many of the points made in Glen Ford's article are dead on and painful to accept. However, there IS a difference between the tea party, active during Bush's years and the creeping nightmare that exists now. Just as there IS a difference between hardcore leftists and liberals. Either side wants to paint the other side with a broad brush, however, that is not doing anyone any favors except devolving into a pissing contest. The progressives co-opted to support Obama is the flip side of the tea party being co-opted by the Republicans. What is important is the commentary of the modus operandi behind the racist element that does exist in the Tea Party movement. However, not sure if most white people will ever get to that point of understanding white entitlement . . . and go the distance in understanding the general conception of Francis Cress that if white supremacy is not understood, then everything else will confuse . . . These concepts remain the intellectual pedigree of academics and intellectuals. Most white people won't understand just as many black people just can't get into opposition to Obama. The system is gamed. The discourse relies on legitimizing the system, the left with "we can sway it" and the right "let's take it back." Do not both legitimize white supremacy? Obama has painted white supremacy brown and gave the old boys club a free pass to perpetual servitude of the American taxpayers to finance debts to bailouts, wars and empire. If 53cents of every tax dollar goes to the military, how much goes to finance the debt to financial institutions and how much more to finance mandatory private insurance? Smedley Butler tattled on the folks(spearheaded by Prescott Bush) who were trying to use him as a leader of the disgruntled white mass(of veterans) to march on Washington and oust FDR in favor of a different regime. Smedley Butler's analysis was DEAD ON in regards to war's relationship to making the world safe for monopoly capital(WAR IS A RACKET). I wonder if Ron Paul realizes that he is in fact the Smedley Butler of 2010? Republicans are ready and waiting to capture the momentum, strangely enough only to implement THEIR version of the same thing that Obama is doing now. However there is always the "homeland terrorist" card should the libertarian element get the upper hand and demand something different than what the Republicans can offer.

The Gangs that couldn't shoot straight

Absolutely brilliant, cogent exegisis.  Thanks for breaking that down.  Posters have been warning the "non-racist" Tea Partiers that cooption was in play, and indeed the pace at which it occurred maybe exceeded the pace at which the "Liberals" and Obama himself coopted the policies of GWB as BBFmail makes clear.  Indeed, Obummer has "out-Bushed" GWB on foreign policy and the implementation of the National Security State.  In Bizarro World, the Peace Prize Winner is a bigger Militarist than Bush I or II.  Paul is the lone GOP voice against Imperialism.  To bad Paul (like Kucinich) won't leave the Party, by standing pat, both are coopted.

It's worth contemplating, mulling over the MSM's censorship of those on the Left who are "through" with Obummer.  One of the reasons that a "Left" and "Libertarian" partnership can't/won't emerge is the Media's propaganda that paints the Tea Party Movement as BROADBASED.  It's not.  But it suits the Oligarch's agenda to prop up a right wing movement and destroy left wing movements.  BAR and others have written about how what used to be "conservative" is now "liberal."  Think about this, Nixon appointed Justice Stevens, and Obama will appoint someone to the right of him?  Shit aint' that complicated if you think about it.  Not to mention the billions and decades spent destroying "Leftist" memes and themes in the Amerikkan psyche and political discourse.

Some M..F.rs probably rather be a "fag" (no disrespect intended, making a point) than a "liberal."  Of course with the ascendency of Obama, the DLC Negroes at the CBC, Rahmn, and the Blue Dogs, coupled with the utter and morally bankrupt capitulation of right wing policies by "left leaning movements" aka "Liberals" and "Progressives," their constant groveling to the right wing natavistic urges of the general populace, "Liberalism" deserves to be treated like shit.

Astute observers recognize it's demise, its corruption and bid it adieu.  Which is why several astute bloggers have made the distinctions at BA Report, the distinction between being a "Liberal" and being a "Leftist."

The fact of the matter is that Amerikka is, at best, a "Centrist" nation, as the writer states, "Liberalism" is a farce.  "Centrism" is about as "Left" as America will EVER get.  (Perhaps no small achievement given it's 400 years + history as a anti-democratic, facist nation??). When the question of racism is weighed it's worth considering that Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Fox, Colter and the rest of the pieces of shit parading as "journalists" or "pundits" get away with saying things David Duke would have been castigated for 10 years ago, even by the GOP?!  And these same cock-suckers appear daily on "Liberal" shows like Today, and Good Morning America, and CNN spewing their biles.  And M.Fr.s have the audacity to say we in a "Post-Racial America."

The Tea Party's OBSESSION with taxes is premised on the theory that they don't won't no Ni***s, Wetbacks, and undesirables tapping that paycheck, they don't want no social safety net fucking with they lifestyle, they don't want none of you lazy M.F.rs who aint as good as them getting their dimes.  That is the sine qua non of their thought process.  Racist M.F'rs!

If they were serious about Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush transferring wealth to the corporations, bringing back old school mercantilism, waging criminal, immoral, bankrupting wars that we pay for, if they were concerned about civil liberties, then a "Right"/"Left" coalition could exist on some limited front.  But no, no, no dem M.Frs blinded by racism AND American Exceptionalism, which is the Amerikkan "God" and root and branch of White Supremacy.

So at the end of the day, the Tea Partiers are just engaged in "incohate rage" and just like their Democratic counterparts, at Moveone, Daily Kos, et. al COOPTED.  So there you have it, the Reds and the Blues, two Gangs that couldn't shoot straight.

Button down the hatches folks, we in for a bumpy ride, shit in this climate, David Duke might be a political comeback, can't hurt can it?  Is he any worse than the rest of these M.Frs???

THE TEA PARTY IS RACIST????

I don't know if I'm just stupid, or am exhibiting early alzheimer's disease symptoms..but I do not see the Tea Party members as racists.  The majority of the group that I find racists...are the huge percentage of African-Americans who just wanted to have a black man in the White House.  Unlike the warning that MLK, Jr. spoke of...there was no consideration of the content of one's character, and the selection seems to have been based sorely on the color of his skin.  So...we end up with "Bush lite"...or perhaps even worse.  I still remember the words of Larry Pinkney, one of the few African-Americans who dared speak out against the slobbering love affair so many were having w/Obama.
What Larry Pinkney wrote:

This is a man who has enjoyed the fruits of America at the blood and expense of Black Americans and others, but who has paid virtually no dues.

This is a man whose father had also enjoyed the fruits of university schooling in America but subsequently returned to his native Kenya.

This is a man, who also like his father before him, neither served in a branch of the US military nor in any organization in America opposed to US military adventurism.

This is a man who as a deeply corporate military industrial complex US Presidential candidate, has called for “unilateral” US military actions in other nations. [And why not? After-all, his father, himself, or his wife and children were not and will not be the ones killing and being killed.]

This is a man who, in Chicago, pretended to support the human rights of the Palestinian people but who is now known to be a huge supporter of the apartheid Zionists and their powerful and insidious political lobby in America.

This is a man who dares opportunistically to feign admiration for the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., but does not share the collective memory, pain and deep concerns of Black America, other people of color, or even of numerous white Americans for that matter - in the ongoing struggle for equality and justice in this nation.

This is a man who has de facto contempt for the past supreme sacrifices made by thousands of activists from so-called “militant” organizations such the Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU), the Student National Coordinating Committee (SNCC), the Black Panther Party (BPP), Students For A Democratic Society (SDS), the American Indian Movement (AIM), the Revolutionary Action Movement (RAM), etc.

This is a man who is silent about the need for reparations for Black American descendants of slaves and the genocide of the indigenous so-called “Indian” peoples on this continent. He is the consummate opportunist who, in reality, cares nothing about the horrors inflicted upon Black, Brown, and Red peoples in this nation, and has repeatedly signaled that he plans to inflict even more “unilateral” military horrors upon various nations and peoples of the world.

This man, Barack Obama, is but a more articulate, younger, and shinier version of the current and infamous US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, adorning himself dangerously and abundantly in superficiality and double-speak.

#####
Not even George Bush sent drones into Pakistan and Somalia which have now killed hundreds of civilians.  The death count in Iraq is over one million, and still growing.  The Defense budget is now the highest in the history of this country.

So now castigate his father too?

"This is a man whose father had also enjoyed the fruits of university schooling in America but subsequently returned to his native Kenya".
This is the kind of xenophobia that is eating a lot of black folks up. His father returned to his native Kenya, so what? First do you consider how his coming might enriched american universities? On a more cynical note, how much of African's resources have benefited and still benefit America? Is Obama any different from Clarence Thomas, Condoleeza Rice and other black misleadership? This is the sort of ignorance and idiocy that enable black folks to be deluded.  The Zionists were calling Obama 'the first Jewish President' but myopic black folks only saw the mirage of a black President.  He disrespect blacks so many times; and he did disrespect his father too calling him a wife beater and having abandoned him. Inspite of it all and Obama's current policies, black folks still defend him to the hilt.  Obama just threatened Iran with nuclear holocaust; and it is all okay with black folks because he is a symbol of ultimate black success.  You cannot pick a fight with everybody, brother. Attack his policies and leave his father out of it. I bet if the father had stayed on in America, same folks would have been complaining how he took their jobs.

Perhaps you are confusing "themes?"

Black folks who voted for Obummer (self excluded) voted out of four principle reasons:  (1) racial solidarity that you depict as "racists," and (2) because he became more viable after defeating Hilllary in my home state of Iowa, and (3) because after defeating Hillary, Billy Boy started playing the "race card," further alienating the Black electorate.  And last but not least (4) the Right Wing media spent years and billions destroying the Clinton brand thus making Obummer's "Hope and Change" mantra salient. (That and GWB being a fucking nightmare). Certainly you can "understand" why they voted for him just like Latinos/Hispanics supported Justice Sotomayor even though she ain't done jack shit for their cause.

That being said, the Tea Party is a by and large (excepting a few stray "libertarians") a bunch of goddamn racists.  You are certainly not stupid, indeed you are intelligent enough to dissect the "themes."  Such as:  "I want my America back."  (Back from what??).  Obama is a "socialist."  Really?  Now that's fucking stupid as you yourself point out.  The Tea Party is by and large a bunch of disgruntled and dispossed crackers who didn't say jack shit when GWB hijacked the constitution, started criminal wars of aggression, expanded Medicaid, and the bullshit aka "No Child Left Behind."  And deregulated the financial markets (along with Billy Boy Clinton)  Oh, and last but not least, bloated the goddamn deficit to record levels.  Now these fucking phoneys are whining about fiscal conservatism.

Once of the reasons Blacks (stupidly) support Obama at all costs is because they hear the racial dog-whisteling  in addition to the more blatant examples of racism.  Whites are just apopletic that a Black Man ( their perspective, not mine) is in the White House.  If just fucks up their world, get's them all confused.  Broke bastards.  That's why they bitch about taxes, crackers just don't want to be taxed, but they DO want cadillac social services AND white privilege.

No Argument Counter Argument Here

You are obviously not stupid and I would seek a doctors opinion if I were as you are concerned about having Alzheimers . But you are may be suffering from an acute case of denial, for after all of your very well taken points about Obama as well as your careless, general assumption that indicts African Americans as being racist for voting for Obama ( A point I might had that is, if not stupid, is greatly bereft of common sense; unless of course you would label those white people who ever voted for any other white president as being racist for doing so and then subsequently acknowledge that such a statement also makes no sense), you've not written one sentence as a counter argument to the points that Mr. Ford raises regarding the white Nationalistic Nature of the Tea Party; Nore any evidence or argument backing up your statement-" but I do not see the Tea Party members as racists."

I for one would like to know how you would present such an argument on the Tea Partys' behalf.

Why am I not surprised?

Why am I not surprised?  Medea Benjamin has always had the brains of a gnat.
Excuse that, a pink lady gnat.
