The election of a black president has given the fashionable fantasy of North American color blindness body and wings. Ostensibly colorblind policies, argues Tim Wise, actually work to widen the persistent gaps between black and white America. You can't pursue racial justice without confronting the everyday reality of race. Since race and racism are constructs imposed by whites on the rest of humanity, only privileged whites can afford the pretense of colorblindness. Solving the nation's persistent problems will mean giving up this pretense.
African scholar Mahmood Mamdani challenges the fabricated
stats and fraudelent history popularized by the Save Darfur Coalition and the advocates of robust U.S. military intervention in Sudan. The Save Darfur Coalition, he argues is not a peace movement but a war dance, blocking a peaceful settlement by spreading falsified casualty figures, groundless charges of genocide, and offering the U.S. public an appealing but misleading case for military intervention.
The year that saw an African American run for the presidency as a viable contender also witnessed a truly remarkable silence. While millions of words written about the political ascent of one black man, there was virtually nothing about the descent of black leadership into well-nigh total ineffectiveness. Barack Obama’s personal itinerary was mapped in the minutest detail. The larger itinerary of African Americans was mostly ignored.

They, and Obama, deliberately
They, and Obama, deliberately fail to mention, 1) that many people have no bootstraps by which to pull themselves up, and 2) the role institutional racism played and continues to play in maintaining the equality divide between blacks and whites.

Wake up and smell the...
This buffoon who was created by zionist and imperialist forces in the US has the nerve to go around declaring the problems of racism, colonialism and neo-colonialism over. Who appointed this jerk a spokesperson for our continent.?
This clown literally urged the youth in Africa to overthrow governments and install his rotten version of freedom which is nothing but an apology to racists and imperialists for us pointing them out as enemies of Africa and humankind as a whole. I'm not a supporter of corrupt governments, but I find it very silly and extremely presumptuous for Obama to place himself above our heroes like Mugabe when he is still wet behind his ears (pun intended). and has no clue what the struggle for liberation consists of and why it had to be launched to begin with. Who the hell does this nonentity think he is? During his first visit to the continent, this fool was scheduled to have a meeting with the then president of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki. Obama being Obama; conceited, suffering from delusions of grandeur, announced that he would confront Mbeki about his (Mbeki's) stance on HIV/AIDS!. This senator was going to lecture an African president about the health policy of his government! Little did he know that Mbeki did not take orders from self-appointed messiahs in the service of imperialism and white supremacy. Mbeki put this clown in his place. He would not meet with him. How I wish this jerk had been thrown out of my country for his disrespect and sheer stipidity!
This past Friday this sell-out was at it again. He chastised black people for being "irresponsible" and for allowing their children to roam the streets, play basketball and for listening to rap music! Why are prisons overcrowded with black people? Why are black people being rescued from the jaws of death by the Innocence Project? Why are sentences for powder cocaine, preferred by the rich, so lenient than those imposed on the wretched of this imperialist country who self-medicate with crack-cocaine to numb the pain of being poor, homeless, illiterate, hungry, marginalised, unemployed and under-employed, called derogatory names and murdered by racist police and terrorist organisations? What is this joke of a man doing about the real problems we deal with every minute of the day? Why are black people listening to this garbage intended as a distraction from what is actually happening in this country and elsewhere? When are we going to wake up and smell the devil?
