Freedom Rider: Israel Is Boss

The United States may invade and occupy Iraq, undermine elected presidents in Haiti and throw its weight around in numerous ways in numerous parts of the world. Yet there is one country it does not dare to confront. Of course, the nation in question is Israel.
Israel and its allies in the United States make certain that no president, no political party, no congressional leader nor any citizen who wishes to be in any way influential, will dare to step outside the lines of proscribed behavior and discourse. The American public, either because they are aware of the pro-Israel grip on power, or because they have swallowed the propaganda whole, remain cowed and silent.
Israel can do whatever it wants not only with the United States, but with other western nations as well. Mossad agents succeeded in murdering Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Mabouh in Dubai last month by using doctored British, Irish, French, Australian and German passports and credit cards issued to an Israeli-run bank located in South Dakota. None of the nations involved has uttered more than the slightest peep after having their sovereignty violated in such an obvious manner.

Just in case there was any doubt about who is in charge, Israel insulted Vice President Joseph Biden and the United States government when Biden made a recent visit to Jerusalem. Biden made the pro forma journey to go through the motions of requesting that the peace process continue. The Israelis could have nudged, winked and gone through the pretense of moving forward on a just peace process. Instead they announced that more Jewish housing will be constructed on Palestinian land, embarrassing the Vice President and his boss, who wanted to pretend to be even handed when they and the rest of American political leadership are anything but. The Obama administration, like every other presidential administration in the last sixty years, does what Israel wants it to do. There shouldn’t be any reason for Israel to yank the Americans’ chain so hard and so publicly, but why follow the rules of diplomatic niceties when doing otherwise has been so successful?
The only thing worse than the obvious slap in the face, is the phony outrage surrounding it. No one gets anywhere near a presidential nomination without first swearing obedience to the Zionists and their lobby. If Obama and Biden and Hillary Clinton were truly upset with the Israelis, it is only because they were so blatant in making them all look like chumps.

Just a few weeks before Obama was sworn into office, George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice were the victims of an Israeli public beat down. Bush was literally pulled off a stage where he was about to give a speech and forced to take a phone call from then Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert. Rice had worked on a Security Council resolution which merely called for a cease fire in Israel’s massacre of thousands of people in Gaza. Olmert bragged in a press conference, “I said, ‘I don’t care; I have to talk to him.’” Not content to tell the world that he ordered the American president to follow his orders, he took a swipe at Rice too. “He gave an order to the secretary of state, and she did not vote in favor of it — a resolution she cooked up, phrased, organized and maneuvered for. She was left pretty shamed, and abstained on a resolution she arranged.” It isn’t surprising that Israel would repeat the humiliation just a year later with a different president.
It doesn’t matter if David Axelrod goes on the Sunday morning news shows and fakes outrage about Israel’s settlements. It matters that Israel continues to steal Palestinian land and it matters that only those willing to go along with the crime are allowed to entertain any idea of having a role in United States foreign policy decisions.

Far from being angry at Israel, the United States government is actually becoming more and more like that nation. The Obama administration claims the right to carry out extra judicial assassinations just like their Middle East partner in crime. The temporary embarrassment and damage control pronouncements are not worthy of anyone’s attention.
The only lesson to learn from this sorry episode is that nothing new has taken place between the United States and Israel. All Americans are still made complicit in the joint criminality and earn the enmity of most of the world as a result. So don’t believe the hype. There is nothing to see here, just move along.

Distinctions
Many people seem to equate the terms Jew, Israeli, and Zionist.
While the terms are not mutually exclusive, precision requires that
we understand the distinctions.
An Israeli is a citizen of Israeli. There are Christians, Moslems, and Buddhists, as well as Jews, who hold Israeli citizenship, There are Israelis from all continents, not just Europe.
A Zionist is a member of a Jewish nationalist movement from the nineteenth century. If one reads some of the Zionist writers and intellectuals, he finds the stench of eugenics among their ideas–especially among the writings of Jabotinsky, Herzl, and Buber (“The deepest layers of our being are determined by blood; our innermost thinking and our will are colored by it”).
“Jew” is elusive. Britannica's definition is “any person whose religion is Judaism. In the broader sense of the term, a Jew is any person belonging to the worldwide group that constitutes, through descent or conversion, a continuation of the ancient Jewish people, who were themselves descendants of the Hebrews of the Old Testament.”
So while the set, “Jew”, would incorporate Netanyahu, Ariel Sharon, and Henry Kissinger, it also would include Noam Chomsky, Lani Guinier, and Julius Lester–as well as the probably fictive Jesus Christ and his Boswell, Saint Paul.
Enlightened Cynic seems aware of these distinctions. It disturbs me to see others conflating the terms. It is important not to confuse our enemies with our friends.

Have made and distributed art of protest of attack on Gaza (multiples on paper), other policies, as well as in one of my rare trips out (due to illness, I don't get out much), I joined a vigil protest when Israel gov't last attacked Lebanon. Israel's "No Renting to Arabs" Policy

To add to these indignities, the Zakais have spent three years and thousands of dollars battling through the courts against the elected officials of their community of Nevatim, in Israel’s southern Negev desert, who have said they are determined to keep the Tarabins from moving in."

On being an American as viewed by the world: I was in Paris, in my mid20s, right after the assassination of JFK, and a waiter at a sidewalk cafe, pointed his finger at me and said, "Bang. Bang.". Spent the whole summer not saying I was American. In France, they thought I was from someplace else in south Europe (dark hair, semetic nose - no one remarks much on how much Palestinians and Israelis look much alike), and in Italy, they thought I was Syrian, etc. (I had one French Jewish grandfather, who I never met, two Polish Jews from Warsaw - the grandfather died before I was born, and one mixed German Jewish/WASP - white anglo-saxon Protestant grandmother.) In Bklyn, where I grew up, I was taken for Italian by other Italians.

Obama's War on Israel

First, no foreign leader can win a popularity contest against a sitting US president. Therefore, Netanyahu must continue to avoid any personal attacks on Obama. He must limit his counter-offensive to a defense of Israel's interests and his government's policies.
Second, Netanyahu must remember that Obama's hostility toward Israel is not shared by the majority of Americans. Netanyahu's goal must be to strengthen and increase the majority of Americans who support Israel. To this end, Netanyahu must go to Washington next week and speak at the annual AIPAC conference as planned, despite the administration's threat to boycott him.
While in Washington, Netanyahu should meet with every Congressman and Senator who wishes to meet with him as well as every administration member who seeks him out. Moreover, he should give interviews to as many television networks, newspapers and major radio programs as possible in order to bring his message directly to the American people.
Obama has made clear that he is not Israel's ally. AND FOR THE REMAINDER OF HIS TERM, he will do everything he can to downgrade US relations with Israel while maintaining his constant genuflection to the likes of Iran, Syria, the Palestinians and Turkey.
But like Israel, the US is a free country. And as long as popular support for Israel holds steady, Obama's options will be limited. Netanyahu's task is to maintain that support in the face of administration hostility as he implements policies toward Iran and the Arabs alike that are necessary to ensure Israel's long-term survival and prosperity.

Shattering Myths: the road to "revolution"
There are two myths I've addressed that need shattering:
1. Bolshevik, European Jewish converts as the "Biblical Chosen People," and
2. The myth of Israeli "democracy."
My final contribution to this topic is the shattering of the 3rd Myth: The myth that America controls Israel rather than Israel controlling America. Here are some, not all, facts that refute that:
a. Egypt is a bigger quisling and stooge for US interests than Israel. In fact, were Egypt to open their border to Gaza Strip, the Israeli/Euro/American stranglehold on Gaza's economic situation would cease overnight. Egypt is a bigger American bitch than Israel. (I challenge any Egyptians to explain their ass-kissing)
b. Egypt, along with Saudi Arabia are the central players in the US/Israel divide and conquer strategy, pitting Sunni interests against Shia interests. According to the b.s. MSM (and their half truths), the Saudi's want to attack Iran as much if not moreso than Israel to avoid the MSM and think tank's bullshit "Shia Crescent."
c. Israel is the hegemon in the M.E. given their nuclear arsenal. No doubt there was a combination of espionage and consent that resulted in Israel's nuclear arsenal. Israel has spied on the US since it's existence. Israel does not need US military assistance. In fact Israel is a leading exporter of military technology AND TACTICS. As previously stated, Israelis learned well from the Nazis as did the US, but the Israeli's are now teaching the Americans a thing or two on "fighting terrorism." Targeted Assassinations being the flavor of the year. The US's primary ME "attack" installation is Diego Garcia. Thus, the "facts on the ground" that, as a result of in-flight refueling, Israel would need US assistance to attack Iran. (Or permission to enter Iraqi airspace which they won't get because of Iranian influence there) The Israeli's have also fallen out with the Turks btw.
d. Israel's reckless and brutal attacks on Lebanon strengthened Hizbollah. (For the record I am more amendable to Hizbollah than Israel on any day and do not consider them a "terrorist" organization, but rather an indigenous group for struggle). Hizbollah's ascendency combined with their ability to accept a pluralistic Lebanonese society is something the lying ass MSM never reports. No Islamic "Extremism" from Hizbollah or the ass-kissing media would be all on it. But from the standpoint of MSM US "strategic interests" Israel's attack on Lebanon negatively affected US interests viz a viz "peace-making" with Syria (or for that matter Syrian reapproachment with Israel viz the Golan Heights). In short, Israeli conduct thwarted a "global settlement" possibility that would have enhanced US intersts.
e. Israel's brutal and senseless attack on the Gaza strip has hurt Israel's status in the the world. The first two myths have taken a hit as a result. The third myth has taken a hit as well. No longer do Americans see Israeli interests as harmonious with their own. The Goldstone Report, suppressed, censored and negated as much as it is, still resonates around the world.
Walt and Mershemier, and Jimmy Carter to a lesser extent, and the US military (behind closed doors) are speaking louder and louder on this conumdrum, that is the disconnect between US interests and Israeli interests. That disconnect is irrefutable proof as to who's running the show. Egypt is ten-fold a better stooge for US interests than Israel. Why do we ignore this truth? Follow the money, duh?

Anyone who does objective research will discover the reason why Israel and the former S. African apartheid government were/are kissing cousins. In Atias’s vision for Israel, certain lands would be sold to Arabs, others to ultra-Orthodox Jews, and still others to secular Jews, creating a nation segregated along inter- and intra-religious lines.
“I, as an ultra-Orthodox Jew, don't think that religious Jews should have to live in the same neighborhood as secular couples, so as to avoid unnecessary friction,” Atias explained."

The other Israeli Myth: "We are a democracy" LOL
With a two state solution all but impossible now, let's see how the "Greater Israel" unfolds. We have already seen for years if not decades what made Israeli's lovefest for S. Africa so telling. Israel has become what S. Africa once was, an apartheid nation. In fact, the Israeli's have elevated apartheid to a whole new level.
Let's see how soon the Myth of a Democratic Israeli dies?? Chomsky has been a big denier of the power of AIPAC and the Jewish lobby in the United States. These denials has prevented the Left from mounting a real confrontation of Zionist influence of U.S. foreign policy and the domestic as well -- especially Zionist influence of the Congress and Black political "leaders".

When Obama came into office, or when he was elected, one high Bush official—I think it was Condoleezza Rice—predicted that Obama’s foreign policy would be a continuation of Bush’s second term. The first and second term of Bush were quite different. The first term was aggressive, arrogant, kicking the world in the face, even allies, and it had such a negative effect—this is in action as well as manner—that US prestige in the world sank to the lowest point it’s ever been. That was really harmful to the interests of those who actually set foreign policy—business world and corporate interests and, you know, state planners and so on.
Notice Chomsky as usual shift the blame and focus to "corporate interest" while omitting Zionist influence such as the Project of New American Century (PNAC) whose prime authors were Jewish Zionists that became an integral part of the Bush Administration.
The fact that the "Left" puts Chomsky on a pedestal and promotes him here on BAR is clearly part of the RACISM that exist on the Left and the "Left" betrayal of principles. Noam Chomksy is NO friend of African Americans. Noam Chomsky is an admitted Zionist who through his rhetoric has weakened any real confrontation of Zionism (and racism in general) the consequence of which has lead to is growth, expansion and strength of its influence upon the U.S. society.

The US is wholly and completely in charge of Israel. Israel is merely performing its function as a distraction and enforcer of chaos in the region where "our oil" happens to be buried.
But you're certainly right that this whole "insult" story is merely a slight change in the form of the show. It allows Obama to strike a "frustrated" pose, without changing a thing.
But we Americans need to full take resposibility for "our" ties to Israel. We could cut them off and impose international law on them in a heartbeat. But that's not in our elite's interest, so it's off the table. But still, "we" write the checks to Israel, not Israel to "us"...

It's more complicated than that: $$$ Rules
One need to only look at our own political system (if that's what you want to call it) in the US of A and see that the only clear thing that "rules" or brings influence to bear is the almightly dollar. Take a look at who runs and funds the Israeli-centric foreign policy "think tanks."
The influence of the Zionist/AIPAC/and related coterie of lobbies's and "think tanks'" impact on campaign finance and public policy speaks volumnes. Anyone who bothers to follow the money will find it inescapable to conclude that Israel dictates American foreign policy. Does the Israeli "tail" wag the US "dog?" Does big Pharma, military contractors, HMOs, and Wall Street dominate US policy? Money is to politicians what crack and meth are to addicts and they will do any and everything to get it. Also, the Christo-Zionists coupled with the European Zionists is a toxic but potent political brew.
The US is no more wholly and completely in charge of Israel than they are wholly and completely in charge of Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. Each nation will always carve out it's own agenda even though that agenda may be subsumed sometimes by the agenda of a hegemon like the US. Case in point: neither Saudi Arabia nor Pakistan has stopped financing wahhabism which is a root cause of Islamic extremism. The Israeli attack on the USS Liberty certainly wasn't in US plans. (I won't even get into the complexities and three dimensional chess game indicating that the US is okay with some of this "Muslim Extremism" itself because of the false, phony WOT meme and the military complex it feeds).

Read Schlomo Sands, a Jewish historian who has written that in all probability the Palestinians as we know them today are the rightful inhabitants of what we call Israel. Destroying the myth of Jewish converts as "the chosen people" is necessary to blunt Euro-Zionists and Christo-Zionists influence on U.S. foreign policy.
