Chicago-based historian and activist Paul Street cuts through the fog of fantasy and wish-fulfillment that makes up much of political discourse in the U.S. left for a sober assessment of the Obama administration in the real world of power and empire. The Empire's New Clothes uniquely measures Obama's record against the expectations many of his supporters hoped he would live up to. Taken together, it is a startling indictment not just of the current president and his people-proof, reform-proof but an indictment of what passes for the U.S. left.
Was the US and NATO's Libyan intervention a humanitarian campaign to protect Libyans against Muammar Gaddafi’s threats of mass violence and genocide, or was it a cynically “rehearsed military expedition” to force regime change and wield Western authority in the region? Far from being an action to save lives, NATO’s “indiscriminate” bombing of civilian targets and cities such as Sirte (Gaddafi’s birthplace) resulted in genocide, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity, and civil war..
African scholar Mahmood Mamdani challenges the fabricated
stats and fraudelent history popularized by the Save Darfur Coalition and the advocates of robust U.S. military intervention in Sudan. The Save Darfur Coalition, he argues is not a peace movement but a war dance, blocking a peaceful settlement by spreading falsified casualty figures, groundless charges of genocide, and offering the U.S. public an appealing but misleading case for military intervention.
The year that saw an African American run for the presidency as a viable contender also witnessed a truly remarkable silence. While millions of words written about the political ascent of one black man, there was virtually nothing about the descent of black leadership into well-nigh total ineffectiveness. Barack Obama’s personal itinerary was mapped in the minutest detail. The larger itinerary of African Americans was mostly ignored.

I'm a close second
I'm afraid I'm a close second when it comes to dissapointment with this presidency. The worst part is not that President Obama may become a one-term president, but that the ideas and ideals he represents in the collective mind of the nation may lose in the long run. Absolutely
I agree. People listen to him more than anybody else because he is passionate about it all. Wonder what would happen next term. Anyways, thanks for this. how to make money online
I hope
Conyers has been around before he was born, I really respect his opinion in that way. And yes quite franckly you can see the popularity falling as quickly as the hype was built up. But I for one really want him to succeed. I want to see all the reforms promissed and despite all the things I really think they at the end can do much better. I really hope they do. sterling silver

It's nothing left to do,
It's nothing left to do, before the elections people are very pleased with the people that won, but after, the disappointment is so big that you don't really know what's there to do. Thank God that there is a very good program, blair rewards that helps a lot in this times. Savings are really important now - and you should really consider it.
Conyers is on his OWN side
Conyers is on his OWN side. He is one that needs to boot. Maybe joining his wife in jail. He's one of the one's who told us he doesn't have TIME to read the bills.

It doesn't cap credit card
It doesn't cap credit card rates, but it does limit how quickly they can raise rates. No raises are permitted in the first 6 months, and 45 days notice MUST be given to the card holder. There are also new limits imposed on how they structure fees, and if they can raise rates on particular charges, and forbids double billing. web editor
we can see that Conyer has his own ideas
we can see that Conyer has his own ideas and those were opposite to Mr President’s . However, we should take obama’s opinion into consideration when he threatened to cut medicare and see whether he was right or wrong

You should read this first,
You should read this first, it might change your perception about our President. The Obama Administration passed the Credit Card Bill of Rights, as it's unofficially known, but it means there are some new rules regarding credit card rates and fees. This might mean higher credit card rates on average, but then again, no one is going to weep for the poor credit cards or the suits that run the companies.

Wonder
I wonder what he would be thinking right now. Or what he would say to this. I know the party is in influence and he has been there for quite a while so people listen to him more no matter who the front man is. links building management

Conyers is the Congressional Black Caucus’s longest serving member, having represented Detroit since 1964, when Obama was a three-year-old.

well I didn't actually get what Congress people really wanted to say. But yes its true that Obama is way more inclined towards health issues. Maybe he is has to put attention to other things too.
